Mentoring Session for Forman Christian College, University’s Final Year Students

A mentoring session was conducted by Mr. Ehtisham Akhtar, a merit-listed alumnus and a renowned name in the field of business coaching & startup consulting, on September 18, 2024 in the Department of Computer Science at Forman Christian College, University, Lahore. Having completed his MBA from LUMS and bringing with him more than a decade experience in business and startup consulting, Ehtisham gave immense value to our final-year students in preparation for their Senior Projects.

The importance of Senior Year Projects cannot be underestimated; Ehtisham placed great emphasis on how even the most basic idea can develop into a very successful business. He shared his personal story of how the knowledge and skills acquired at university level can prove to be very decisive in launching one’s career with great success. His passion for helping students was palpable, and he encouraged them to view their projects not just as academic exercises, but as stepping-stones to entrepreneurial success.

Ehtisham shared the session with more than 100 students and reflected on avenues for funding projects, the importance of precision, and the well-intentional execution of projects. He shared how well-researched projects may attract investors, relating to launching new initiatives into the market.

The discussion also involved the key role of research in the development of projects with impact. Ehtisham urged students to start thinking critically about the financial viability of their ideas, guiding them through how to assess market needs and identify potential pitfalls.
